- Clinical Significance:
- The antibody has been absorbed with blood group antigens A and B, and insolubilized normal human plasma. The antibody shows a strong reaction with CEA and CEA-like proteins, such as CEACAM1 (biliary glycoprotein, BGP1) and CEACAM6 (non-specific cross-reacting antigen, NCA). The canalicular pattern of staining is particularly helpful in the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma.
