- Clinical Significance:
- Anti-MOC-31 reacts with a transmembrane glycoprotein present on virtually all epithelia, with the exception of most squamous cells, hepatocytes, renal proximal tubular cells, gastric parietal cells and myoepithelial cells. This antibody is useful to distinguish adenocarcinoma from mesothelioma and hepatocellular carcinoma.
