- Clinical Significance:
- Estrogen Receptor (ER) and Progesterone Receptor (PR) are measured in breast cancer specimens according to ASCO/CAP recommendations, for both prognostic and therapeutic purposes. Receptor expression is detected by binding of monoclonal rabbit anti-ER antibody clone 6F11 by Leica and monoclonal mouse anti-PR antibody clone 16 by Leica. ER and PR status is determined by the percentage of stained tumor cells, according to ASCO/CAP guidelines. HER2 (c-erbB-2) expression by IHC is measured in accordance with CAP/ASCO Guidelines for both prognostic and therapeutic purposes in breast and gastroesophageal carcinomas. HER2 expression level is detected by binding of a monoclonal rabbit anti-human HER2 antibody (Biocare clone EP3). HER2 expression level is determined by the percentage of tumor cells with complete or intense staining
